My personal weight loss journey...
For 30 years I sat behind a desk at work.... I tried to stay active on the weekends, but eventually sitting all day every day caught up to me. I found myself unhealthy and could no longer do the things I loved doing. I remember my family was planning a trip to Disneyland with the kids and grandkids. I really wanted to go and watch the joy on my grandkids faces. But I was sad because I knew I couldn’t go because I couldn’t walk more than an hour. I had given up some of my favorite activities, like skiing and golf. Then a good friend of mine invited me to a Weight Loss Challenge. I went into the challenge thinking I knew it all... and just like many of you I was so skeptical. I thought I had tried everything... On other programs, I’d lose 24-30 lbs, Then gain that back plus more... Do you know what I mean?? BUT!!! Thank goodness I ended up learning a lot about the power of protein, healthy nutrition and how to create an healthy lifestyle. The coaches were all so supportive and it helped to have the support of the group. I felt great, had more energy and lost 24 lbs in the challenge!! I went on to lose over 70 lbs that first year and later over 80 lbs and went from a size 18 to a size 6! Never in my adult life had I been below a size 10. Truly amazing! |
